Rusted Chain Bike Collective will conduct bicycle repair clinics to keep your bike in good condition! They will also provide bike valet parking for everyone who rides to Veg Fest!
Make your trip to Veg Fest
healthy, carbon-free, and fun! Get on the Bike-Bus! What’s a Bike-Bus?
It’s a bunch of bicyclists traveling together along a predetermined
route and schedule, just like a transit bus does. Just look for the
Bike-Bus near you (check back at this page in October for a link to the
routes), check the stops and schedule, ride your bike to the nearest
stop, and “hop on.” You can also join Orlando Bike-Bus on Facebook for updates or to volunteer. Florida Bicycle Association is coordinating the “bus driver” volunteers.
Paul Mitchell the School will "Cut Hair Not Trees" with $10 Haircuts for a Cause. Half of the proceeds go to Pet Rescue by Judy and half go to Central Florida Veg Fest for vegetarian education and outreach!
Solar-Ray will have a solar power display connecting to the park's electrical system to create power for the event!
SOLAR POWER
Learn the basics of how a solar panel works and how you can reduce your carbon footprint by using green energy. We will be displaying a 35 watt solar panel and demonstrating how to connect to a battery source and convert the direct current from the solar panel into AC power for charging small appliances.
RAINWATER CATCHMENT
Learn how to assemble a rain barrel and conserve one of our most valuable resources, water. We will have a rain barrel and show how to and use the rain barrel to collect water for your home and garden.
BIOINTENSIVE GARDENING
Vegetables, herbs, fruits, flowers, and native plants will be on display to demonstrate gardening techniques and types of gardens including companion planting, bio-intensive gardening, and butterfly gardening.
COMPOSTING WORMS
Composting worms eat your garbage and produce nutrient rich amendment for your soil. Come see our red wigglers and learn how they convert your trash into treasure and how to use the worm tea to kill bad bugs and prevent plant diseases.
